About us
Jericho House is an ecumenical, multi-faith centre in the Catholic tradition that is engaged in social and ecological justice, spiritual reflection and leadership education for adults and youth.
We focus on social justice, ecological
integrity and spirituality directed
to the individual and community.
Christians and people of all faiths and beliefs have been a part of retreats, conferences, and peer ministry workshops since 1988.
Our Facilities
Jericho House’s architecture is purposely built to embody our spirit of ‘welcoming’ and to achieve our goal of creating a comforting setting for retreats, conferences, and workshops, and special events.
A Tranquil Setting
Jericho House is located in Wainfleet in the Niagara Region of southern Ontario. Jericho House is blessed with having six of its seven hectares (17 acres) include thriving Carolinian woodland, unique in Canada to the southern tip of Ontario amid the Great Lakes. It boasts an extremely high biodiversity of species, with more than 500 considered rare!
It is also adjacent to the Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority’s Wainfleet Wetlands, 80 meters from the TransCanada Trail, and 800 meters from Lake Erie. It is a peaceful, tranquil setting that allows for leisurely nature walks, hiking, swimming, bird watching, horseback riding in summer, snowshoeing, and cross-country skiing in winter.
A Welcoming Place
Jericho House is governed by a Board of Directors and is currently administered by Sr. Jacquie Keefe, CSSF and Mr. Paul Beaudette with Br. Bill Carothers, CFC, who assists in its Ministry of Hospitality and Welcome.
A joint mission of the Edmund Rice Christian Brothers and the Felician Sisters, Jericho House is an oasis of hospitality, mutuality, and advocacy. It is a welcoming place for personal and communal reflection.
